Socially, the married life is a parameter of social status and social recognition. Families normally do not accept a disabled boy or a girl in marriage. The disabled people mostly happen to be from backward, tribal, rural and poor background. As such, they do not have many helpers, well-wishers or friends and they are forced to live a life of recluse. For the last 15 years the Sansthan has been regularly reaching them and making successful efforts to get these unfortunate disabled individuals a life partner by organizing marriages of the disabled in groups. We have, so far, solemnized 12 Group marriages in which a total of more than 309 couples have tied the knot of marriage. One such occasion was witnessed by the then Hon’ble vice President of India Shri Bhairavon Singh Shekhawat. |
