Success Story : Radha

Due to congenital polio, Radha, the eldest of three siblings from Deepur Nagariya, Sikanderpur Khas in Farrukhabad district, Uttar Pradesh, faced significant difficulties with walking due to the deformity and backward bending of both her feet. Her condition made movement very challenging. From birth, Radha, who was afflicted with polio, had been unable to walk. Her parents, Rampal Kashyap and Leesha, were deeply concerned about their daughter’s condition. They had spent around 40-50 thousand rupees on surgery at a private hospital in Agra, but there was no improvement.

Ramping up their struggle, Rampal worked as a laborer to support his five-member family, and the growing disability of their daughter added to their daily difficulties. Radha’s inability to attend school, play with friends, and perform daily activities led her to feel increasingly despondent and inferior.

In September 2023, a glimmer of hope appeared when Rampal, acting on the advice of a local resident, took Radha to Narayan Seva Sansthan in Udaipur on September 25, 2023. There, doctors performed surgery on her right foot on September 28 and on her left foot on November 19, 2023. After the successful surgeries, Radha was provided with beneficial braces and special shoes.

After nearly nine months of successful medical interventions, Radha’s life saw a transformation. The darkness that had surrounded her life began to fade. She can now walk comfortably without any support, bringing tears of joy to her parents’ eyes. The entire family is immensely happy with the positive change in Radha’s life.
