Chandni Yadav, who was born with deformities in both her feet, has faced numerous challenges during her 23-year journey. Due to her feet being twisted at the ankles, she was forced to limp and drag herself while walking, which eventually led to wounds on her feet. An institution corrected her disability through advanced surgery, enabling her to stand on her own feet.
When this daughter, considered the embodiment of Goddess Lakshmi, was born in the home of Kamlesh Yadav in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, the family rejoiced. However, sorrow soon followed when they discovered that both her feet were twisted at the ankles. Her family was helpless in the face of fate’s decision, so they devoted themselves to raising Chandni. Her father, Kamlesh, sought treatment at numerous hospitals in the area, but none provided a satisfactory solution. During this time, they learned about Narayan Seva Sansthan’s free polio corrective surgery through social media. On March 11, 2022, they brought Chandni to the institute in Udaipur, where specialist doctors conducted thorough examinations. Subsequently, three surgeries were performed on March 19, April 22, and the last week of June, followed by five castings. These procedures allowed Chandni not only to stand on her feet with the help of calipers but also connected her with the mainstream of society by providing her with free three-month computer training, paving the way towards self-reliance.
Chandni says that the institute has given her a new life by providing her the opportunity to walk like normal people. They also cleared the fog from her future by connecting her with self-employment training and gave her family hope. She is deeply grateful to the institute, its staff, and donors.
