Success Story : Ravi Devangan

Ravi Devangan, a resident of a village in Dhamtari district, Chhattisgarh, left for his duty on the morning of January 28, 2021, just like any other day. He had no idea that in just a few moments, his life would be turned upside down. His bus collided head-on with a truck in a horrific accident. Ravi, the conductor, was severely injured. When he was taken to the hospital, his left leg was badly damaged. The doctors, with the family’s consent, had to amputate the leg up to the knee, as there was no hope of saving it. This happened on February 4th, a day that marked an extremely difficult time for Ravi and his family. It was hard for Ravi to accept that his life would never be the same again. Every step would now require the support of someone else.

During this challenging time, Ravi came across Narayan Seva Sansthan in Udaipur on social media, which provided free artificial limbs. Without any hesitation, he contacted the organization. Upon visiting Narayan Seva Sansthan, he was fitted with an artificial leg and received walking and movement training.

Not only did he learn to walk again, but he also took steps toward earning a living from home. He enrolled in a free mobile repair course at the skill development center run by the Sansthan, which not only provided him with technical knowledge but also boosted his self-confidence.

After completing the training, Ravi decided to start his life afresh with renewed energy. He says, “Now, I will have a new identity and a new job.” These words were filled with confidence and hope, clearly reflecting his determination to build a better future.
