Narayan Seva Sansthan (NSS), a leading non-profit organization in healing, enriching, and empowering differently-abled individuals, has been officially recognized as a global partner organization by the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) through its Global Partnership Exchange (GPEx) program.
NSS Welcomed at ISPO GPEx Forum
NSS was formally welcomed as a new GPEx member at the ISPO GPEx forum held today. This prestigious event brought together prominent leaders from various international organizations within the prosthetics and orthotics field.
During the forum, NSS had the opportunity to showcase its impressive work:
- Vision, Mission, and Impact: NSS presented its vision, mission, and the significant impact it has made in providing prosthetic care.
- State-of-the-Art Facilities: A virtual tour led by Dr. Manas Sahoo, Senior Master P&O, highlighted NSS’s advanced Prosthetics and Orthotics Fabrication Unit, staffed by a dedicated team of 30 P&O professionals.
- Global Initiative: ‘got limbs?’ A key focus of the presentation was NSS’s ambitious global initiative, “got limbs? – Scaling Access to Prosthetics in Humanitarian and Development Settings.” This initiative aims to provide 100,000 lifetime prostheses by 2030.
NSS Pioneering Accessible Prosthetics
NSS leadership, including Prashant Agarwal, Global President, and Manoj Barot, Global Vice President, detailed the organization’s journey and its commitment to overcoming accessibility barriers:
- 35,000 Prostheses Provided: NSS highlighted its success in providing over 35,000 prostheses through a unique outreach camp approach. This innovative strategy addresses the critical global shortage of prosthetic services, particularly for underserved populations.
- Emphasis on Affordability and Quality: Barot emphasized NSS’s commitment to developing affordable prosthetics that meet WHO and ISO quality standards.
NSS Announces Global Collaboration Efforts
Prashant Agarwal emphasized NSS’s core belief: mobility is a right, not a privilege. He outlined strategies to achieve their vision, including:
- World-Class Technology: Providing access to the latest prosthetic technology.
- Single-Visit Solutions: Streamlining the process for prosthetic assessment and fitting.
- Free Prosthetics: Ensuring free access to prosthetics for individuals in low- and middle-income countries.
Agarwal further appealed to the ISPO forum and its global network for collaboration, inviting partnerships to:

- Expand access to underserved communities worldwide.
- Advocate for inclusive policies that ensure accessibility and dignity for all.
