After 3 years of birth, she was admitted to a nearby hospital due to sudden deterioration in health, where during treatment, she became a victim of polio due to the side effects of the injection.
Nandini, daughter of Raju-Santosh Kumawat, a resident of Dataramgarh in Sikar district of Rajasthan, is now 11 years old. The left leg got twisted from the knee and toe. Due to the poverty of the family, the girl could not get further treatment. Father Raju earns a living for the family by doing the work of laying tiles. The family also felt distraught to see the daughter limping. Nandini also had difficulties going to school.
Meanwhile, when the father came to know about free polio treatment at Narayan Seva Sansthan from TV, he immediately took his daughter to Udaipur Institute on 22 March 2023. After examining the left leg in the institute, two operations were conducted on 25 March and 11 August respectively. After about 13 visits, Nandini is now not only able to stand on her feet but also walk and run. The family is pleased to see the daughter walking easily.
